How To Relax The Week Before Your Wedding

The weeks leading up to your big day, even if you’re having a just-us experience, can be full of to-do lists, last-minute errands, final DIYing, and final checks on logistics, amongst other things.

When there’s so much going on, it can be hard to shift your focus to what really matters, marrying your best friend.

To help with that, here are 5 ways to relax the week of your wedding. Choose at least one and schedule it into your calendar now so that you won’t forget to do it the closer you get to your wedding day.

Wedding Planning End Date

Do everything you can to wrap up all your wedding planning tasks at least 2 days before your wedding.

I know this very much lives in the “easier said than done” camp, but by setting an earlier deadline, you have time to decompress from the planning phase of getting married and shift your focus to the excitement and celebrations that are about to happen.

Book A Massage/Take A Bath

Schedule some “you” time and do something that helps your body relax.

If you’re big on spas, treat yourself to a lux spa experience like the Scandinave Spa in Whistler. Set in the forest, Scandinave Spa is known for its Thermal Journey through hot, and cold and relaxing stations to help you ease the tension in your shoulders.

If you prefer to stay home, (lovingly) kick your fiancee out of the house for a few hours and enjoy a hot bath, a glass of your fav bevvie, watch whatever you want… enjoy the house to yourself!

Another good option is to book a massage the week leading up to your wedding. An RMT massage (so that your extended health benefits cover it) can help release any super tense muscles so that you feel relaxed on your wedding day.

Get Outside

Spend a bit of extra time outside, in nature, as your wedding day approaches. It’s been known that getting some natural daylight on your face is not only good for the soul, but helps reduce stress levels and will also help you get a good night’s sleep.

Relaxing The Week Before Your Wedding

While in a perfect world, you wouldn’t have to do anything in the week leading up to your wedding, the reality is that you’re probably going to have quite a few last-minute details to take care of.

So even if you can’t fit in something bigger, doing little things will also have the same effect.

Something as small as cherishing your morning cup of coffee in an actual mug instead of a travel mug can have a big impact on your stress levels.

So pick your favourite way to relax and enjoy!!
