Phil and Zoey | Vancouver Engagement

Phil is my good friend Gina’s little brother. When he was going to propose to his girlfriend Zoey, I was so excited for him and yet so bummed I couldn’t be there to capture their special moment. Zoey is such a sweet, kind and loving person, I couldn’t imagine a better match for Phil. So when they asked if I would photograph their engagement session in Vancouver, I was thrilled!

We started in Gastown and made our way to Stanley Park, trying to capture the beauty of Vancouver. They were heading to China for 3 months and wanted to show Zoey’s family and friends where they live and how amazing the west coast is.

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Brooklyn’s first birthday. It was a sunny hot Saturday afternoon, the perfect day for Chantel and Ian to host a backyard barbeque at their beautiful place in Coquitlam for all the friends and family.

There was some awesome catered food, Ian manned the BBQ, and Chantel had been baking cupcakes and cakes for weeks. They even had a bouncy castle for the kids that I was very tempted to go jump in. Especially considering how tall some of the kids were, I don’t think anyone would’ve noticed me!

Brooklyn was at first a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people in her usually quiet home, but she soon came around and started to enjoy her special day. Especially her birthday cake which she thoroughly enjoyed eating with her hands and making a big mess.

We had a great time chilling with friends and celebrating the first of many birthdays of little Miss Brooklyn.
